Charles Francis Xavier was born the son of nuclear researcher Brian Xavier and his wife, Sharon. A cruel and spiteful boy, he bullied his new stepbrother. As punishment, his father secretly beat him - and young Charles felt his sibling's pain firsthand thanks to the emergence of his mutant telepathic powers. Following their mother’s death, a fire in the family home took Kurt’s life, leaving the stepbrothers alone. By the time he graduated high school, Charles was completely bald as a side effect of his mutant nature. He entered Bard College in New York at age 16 and earned his bachelor's degree in biology within two years.
He was then accepted into the graduate-studies program at England's prestigious Oxford University, where he earned degrees in genetics and biophysics. There, Charles met and fell in love with a young Scotswoman named Moira Kinross. Their passionate discussions on the subject of genetic mutation gave way to romance, and they planned to marry. Their only obstacle was Moira's former boyfriend, Joe MacTaggert, a lance corporal in the Royal Marines and a bully, just like Cain. In Joe's eyes, Charles was a good-for-nothing intellectual, so Charles enlisted in the military after completing his studies at Oxford to validate himself in terms his rival would understand.
Charles Xavier has a dream where Mutants and Humans live together in perfect harmony and peace, as equals. His long-time friend, Magnus does not believe this is possible. Professor used his family's fortune to build a school for the ever-growing mutant community, to teach them to use their new found powers safely and with responsibility. In order to fight for the dream he believes to be the future, Charles put together his team of X-Men, named not for Xavier's moniker, but for the gene in Mutant DNA that enables them to have their powers. Alongside his X-Men, he strives to defend and protect the humans that would otherwise be targets of more violent factions of mutant-kind.
Born with psychic abilities, he is arguably the most powerful telepath on the planet, often sending out the psychic call to the team: To Me My X-Men! Charles has powers such as telepathy: able to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of 250 miles (on Earth). With extreme effort he can greatly extend that radius. When synced with Cerebro, he can connect to every mind on a planet. Whether or not this also relates to all sentient lifeforms or specifically with Humans and Mutants is not known. After he was thrown into the M'Kraan Crystal, it not only restored his mutation, but made his telepathy more powerful than it has been previously, thereby making him the world's most powerful telepath once again. There are still much more ability that he possessed.
